What is happiness, really? Who better to answer this question than of residents of the top three Happiest countries in the world, and coincidentally, my own parents.

I created this short documentary in the summer of 2024 with the support of the Richter Scholars Program at Wake Forest University. I myself am half Danish, so for many years I’d been aware of the “happiness rankings.” According to the world happiness report, the top three happiest countries of 2024 were Finland, Iceland, and Denmark. So off I went, the the hopes of discovering what made these people so happy, if they even were happier than other countries, and if this happiness applied to all residents of those countries. After five weeks of traveling solo, interviewing residents and family, this is my answer to the happiness question.
